E. Lefaucheux .32 caliber, pin fire, double action revolver. Circa 1870 -1875. This pistol is marked on the left side of the barrel breech E. Lefaucheux over INT R Brevete. The proof marks on the barrel and cylinder consist of a crown over EL and indicate this revolver was produced in Belgium. The round barrel is 3 ½” in length. Overall, the pistol is 7 ½”long. The frame and the cylinder have minimal engraved decoration located on the frame edge and around the cylinder. The action is tight and appears to function but it hasn’t been completely tested to be certain for fear of causing damage to delicate interior parts. The stocks have a very deep patina and excellent varnish coverage. This pistol is cased in the original mahogany box which is “French Fitted” to the pistol and accessories. In addition to the revolver, the case contains an interesting ammunition block which has a full complement of 100 original .32 caliber pin fire cartridges. In addition, the case comes complete with the oiler, cleaning rod, and original key. There is a screw driver contained but it is a replacement.
