Antique Flintlock Pistol from Napoleonic War | circa 1813 – 1814 | German Model AN XIII Flintlock Pistol by “PISTOR” | In overall good original flintlock condition. Has round regulation iron smoothbore and band-fastened .69 caliber 8″ barrel. Has visible proof mark and a brown aged patina. The side of the breech with a rectangular cartouche and a faint 1813 date of manufacture. Regulation Pattern walnut ¾ stock with fine untouched surfaces, sharp contours: has some pitting and abrasions.
Model AN XIII, regulation pattern, French-type, brass & iron furniture. A raised, brass, “S” shaped sideplate, a single brass barrel band (with an integral sideplate-connection arm), the two-piece trigger-guard with a brass bow and iron base; and a rounded “skull-crusher” butt-cap. In original flintlock configuration with its original lock components and fine mechanics.
Model AN IX/XIII lock with a rounded lockplate, reinforced hammer and removable brass powder-pan. Some scattered light discoloration and untouched dark surfaces: and having a worn down “Pistor” of Schmalkalden (Germany) markings.
Overall length, 14.5″. A very nice example of Napoleonic War Period German Arsenal-made French Model AN XIII Pistol, dtd. 1813; made in the region of Germany, under the control of Napoleon. A scarce “French” Model of Military firearm. Revolutionary War French Flintlock Pistol.
