18th Century English Sterling Silver | George III Sterling Silver Salver | Weight: 26.75 ozt | Dimensions: approx. 12″ in diameter | City Mark: London, England Makers Mark: Richard Rugg Date Mark: 1778 | Inscribed: The salver bears a presentation inscription on the underside base of the Salver which reads “THE GIFT OF Wm. CASE, TO HIS GODSON RD. HARMAR BORN AUG : 25th. 1776”. Engraved: with a Case Family Armorial | The top of the salver bears a manorial crest with the right side of the crest being that of the Case family. The left side of the crest bears 3 liver birds but we are unsure as to the identity of the family (the crests were usually combined following marriage). The salver is supported on three ball & claw feet.
