Gives first hand account regarding destruction of George Armstrong Custer and his entire immediate command at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Less than two weeks after the massacre, the paper devotes over two columns on the first page to “THE WAR WITH THE SIOUX”, describing for the first time the scene upon Terry’s arrival, a description of the battle, Reno’s retreat, analysis of the defeat and blame placed on Custer for violating orders, volunteers being raised to fight the Sioux, etc. Condition: Minor edge tears, remaining paper very good to fine condition.
