U.S. Model 1902 N.S. Meyer Spartan Etched Dress Sword
This is a fantastic U.S. Model 1902 etched presentation sword | Intended to replace the Model 1872 Calvary “Officers” Saber, this new sword was to be carried by all Army officer’s, regardless of service branch | This Sword was manufactured by the highly respected N.S. Meyer in New York | The sword is marked with the hallmark “SPARTAN TRADEMARK N.S. MEYER WEST GERMANY” | The blade is also marked with the brass inlaid PROVED medallion | The etching on the blade is beautiful with floral sprays, stands of military trophies, and an eagle at midpoint, clutching a ribbon with the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The other side of the blade is the same except that the eagle is replaced with the “U.S.” initials in gothic script. This sword also features more floral pattern etched along the spine of the blade | This presentation sword has a nickel-plated hilt with a black finger molded bakelite grip and a four-branch decorated up-tilted D-guard also nickel plated | Includes the original nickel plated scabbard / sheath
