An antique Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. “Old Jug Lager Krug-Bier “jug.  After moving to Cincinnati as an immigrant from Bavaria in 1842, Moerlein established a brewery in a predominantly German neighborhood. A decade later, Moerlein was the most prominent brewer in Cincinnati. The most popular beer produced was “Old Jug Lager Krug-Bier.” The brewery closed during Prohibition, but reopened in the 1980s and operates and produces beers in Cincinnati today.
