Leo J. Milhoan (American, 1894 – 1981) was an active painter for over 50 years. A large portion of his life was spent in the West, and Southwest. He was especially interested in the Indian, and was friendly with various Tribes,and Pueblos. His paintings show the vivid colors of the great West and his knowledge of the first American. Mr. Milhoan has numerous landscapes, concentrating on the life of the indian, Western Landscape, and Cowboys.
Milhoan has Shown his work at the New Mexico southwest Exhibit in Santa Fe and New Mexico State Fair Art Show; KKAE,Galleries in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Springfield Missouri. Leo Milhoan has also had numerous successful one-man Shows. He was recently a Member of the Remero St. Gallery in Old Town Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also sold his work through the shop of the Rainbow Man in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Mr. Milhaon Attended the Kansas City Art Institute;also studied under John Douglas Patrick, the famousArtist, whose memorable Painting ” Brutality ” hangs in the huge Jones Store in Kansas City, Missouri.
