This scopious collection includes examples of these media applied to canvas, metal, paper, plaster, vellum, wood, glass and card stock.

In addition to original paintings, Worthington is home to a wide-ranging collection of rare printmaking art including important and very limited examples of woodcut, linocut, etching, engraving, monotype, lithography, and serigraph. Virtually all of Worthington’s prints are true artist proofs or very limited editions (and early strikes) that are personally signed, numbered and designated by the artist of the original work. The only exception would be very unique and sought after prints made by the artist’s estate or those authenticated by an heir to the artist (E.g. The Picasso Estate Collection).

The collection’s sculpture pieces include statues, relief sculptures, bronze, ivory carvings, marble pieces, stone, terracotta, ceramic and wood-carving.  Such sculptures include important original and/or limited series works from well-known artists such as Rodin, Bernini, Savage, Modigliani, Botero, Mitchell, and Remington.

The prehistoric and ethnographic art include important examples of pottery, jewelry, statues, idols, relics, instruments, tools, weapons, masks, lamps, wall carvings, coins, tablets, manuscripts from most parts of the world including pre-Columbian, Greek, Roman, Russian, Middle Eastern, Asian, African, Northern Europe and British.

The great weight of the Worthington collection was acquired by a private collector, a lifelong collector who traveled to over 50 countries pursuing and acquiring thousands of special works of art.  As a result, Worthington’s inventory is so expansive that the gallery believes it can meet most client’s needs from its own inventory.

However, our team of professionals often consult and advise clients and members regarding locating and purchasing specific art pieces not held in Worthington’s extensive inventory. Given Worthington’s highly knowledgeable and experienced specialists, Worthington will authenticate, appraise and market individual pieces, collections and estates that are or contain important works of art.  Worthington will acquire or sell pieces of art owned by its clients and members in its own galleries, web based virtual gallery, and through its live and online auctions. These auctions occur several times a year serving both a national and international audience.
